Dave Buck's Team20 Marketing Plan, good idea...NOT!

OK, so what am I bitching about now? Do I always have to pick on Dave Buck? Yeah... kind a sort a. With all the bad decisions he has made with regards to Coachville, he should really sell the site before he makes it go bankrupt and totally embarrass himself to the max, more so than he has so far. Hey Dave, did you know that most coaches don't take you seriously? Why is Coachville membership income going quickly downhill? Take a guess Dave. You bailed on Thomas' vision and disappointed the membership too many times.

But seriously folks, what's this Team20 all about? Basically it's a way to network or grow your network fairly easy. For a price, he's offering you a service from his vendor of Team20. Nope. He didn't figure this out. Thomas Leonard could've. But Dave has to outsource. There goes more jobs. Anyway he talks bout: "Build a Referral ENGINE for Visibility and Credibility"and in this case, it's an ezine with articles in it. If you want to take a look, click here:

Your basic ezine layout with some rahrah pics of the people you're supposed to be networking with. So they and you write articles about what you do and now POOF! You're an expert in your field. All this for only $49 a month. Come on Dave! Who are you kidding? Folks, you can pay me the $49 and I'll put the ezines together for you and make them look nicer. Oh... did you notice that there are banner ads that you can't control on the right side bar? Gee, I'm paying $49 and the Team20 source gets to make even more money on banner ads that I can't control. Gawd Dave! Why not let us put Google Adsense there and we get to make some money! So folks, can you see what a great advantage Team20 will do for your network? Gee, at $49 per month / $588 per year you to can have your own cool ezine and put articles in it to prove you're an expert. Yep. Guess who's really making the money here? The guy who has hired the Team20 people to receive all the Coachville coaches who are going to fall for this. I really hope the newbie coaches can see through Dave's dilemma. Seems like a plan that was NOT well thought out and really something NOT for coaches. But Dave Buck does have an email list that's quite large and Coachville is in desperate need of income, because it's not coming in and Dave's no longer coaching anymore. He doesn't even have his quirky website, which I did like at one time.

So people... beware of Team20. Your money will go out of your wallet and purse faster than your network will provide you with business. And what does that mean to you? You're going into the red for something that's untested, untried and untrue. Why else beside to raise income for himself would Dave Buck be offering the coaching community something HE HAS NEVER TESTED HIMSELF? Go figure folks. Dave's in need of a Buck or two, or three. And guess who he wants to get it from? You. But don't believe me. Check it out yourself and call him. Ask him if he has tested this out himself. His phone number is: 973-601-9444 or at 866-703-6460. And tell him Simon Phoenix sent you. Then hide your wallet because you'll want to keep all your money in your control.

SOC, Thomas Leonard's passing, more disappointment.

While I was ruminating over the passing of Thomas Leonard, Feb 11th 2003, I found this on the internet. Just wanted to say, thanks a lot to CEO Dave Buck for keeping the vision of Thomas in tact and taking care of the coaching community as a whole. Thomas sure picked the right person to succeed him. Taken directly from the 'school of coaching news':

A few of you have also expressed concern over long-term plans for the School of Coaching and its component schools. By way of response, allow us to reassure you in the simplest of terms:

In keeping with Thomas' vision - for the School of Coaching to be the largest, most comprehensive and most progressive coaching school in the world - we are proceeding with his plans to deliver these promises to you.

Yeah, right Dave. Thanks for making this happen for us. We're in good hands. For those of you who don't know, a goodly amount of 'schools' (creativity, leadership, others) Thomas Leonard planned on offering in exchange for high dollar 'lifetime' memberships ($4495 tops) never appeared. They were never developed or acted on by Dave Buck nor were they replaced with anything similar like Thomas had in mind. Where did all that lifetime membership money go? Perhaps there should be an forensic audit to satisfy the massive gap in accountability here. You decide.

Dave's bio and The Secret... it's no secret now!

OK, last Dave post for the night. But you won't believe the image this guy pitches to the media and you the coaches at large. So read the post about the 2 dumbest things Dave did. Now check out his bio I found on the internet. This is directly taken from the site:

Dave is a founding member of the Transformational Leadership Council with Jack Canfield and many others seen in the hit movie “The Secret”. Dave was a part of the first ever Global Coaching Leader Summit.

The guy begs for money, and scams affiliate links on the membership. Now he puts himself in the same company as Jack Canfield and touts himself as a Coaching Leader? You have got to be kidding! Doesn't anybody get this? Or am I the only sane person on the planet who can put 2 and 2 together? Coaches, you decide who the real Dave is. You're the ones good at this stuff.

The 2 dumbest things Dave Buck ever did at Coachville

Let's go back in time folks and pull up something from the past that was about the stupidest thing Dave Buck did. Now I'm not really bashing him right now. BUT WHAT WAS HE THINKING! About 2-3 years after he got Coachville things seemed ok. But then there was this email that he sent to the members which asked for a $49 donation to 'show your support' of Coachville. What's up with that?
What do we get for that, Dave? Didn't we pay enough to you at $1795 for a lifetime membership? Or wasn't $4495 enough? You have to have more? Where did all that money go, Dave?

He never mentioned in the state of the Ville that Coachville was in financial trouble. And begging to the coach members to 'send in money'. Why didn't he just do a fund raiser or telethon for Coachville and tell us WHAT REALLY WAS UP at the Ville? Nope. He had to beg for money. There goes any credability he had right out the window. I lost all respect for the man when he did that. But wait! There's more.

Do you recall about a year after the begging for money thing when Dave Buck send out a recommendation for some book that a friend of his was promoting? He again emailed the whole Coachville membership about it. OK,... so what's the big deal? Glad you asked. If you know anything about affiliate links, good 'ole Dave put an affiliate link in his email that sent you to his friend's product! Did he mention he was going to get kickbacks from that referral? No. Now there's a sneaky way to make money! Sleazy too. I guess since he's not coaching anymore (his website is non-existant) he needs some kind of income.

Again Dave Buck has proven how honest he is about the financial dealings of Coachville and also about exploiting the membership email list. Talk about spamming the members and making money off them at the same time. Thanks a lot Dave.

the point of this blog... and more!

Hello everyone and thanks for dropping by to check out the only blog on the net that tells you all about Coachville both the good, the bad and the ugly. I'm your host Simon Phoenix and I'd like to encourage you to read, reply and add your own material to this site.

If you have good to say about this organization, great! If you have bad or ugly to say... even better. Let's just call this a site where you can praise, vent or tattle on the CEO, the General Manager or anyone else at Coachville.com. Because this is America and it's our Nation's birthday today. It's also the birth of this blog, so let freedom and public opinion ring!

I'm sure Dave Buck the receiving CEO of Coachville will definitely boil when he finds out about this. But like I said, this is America and there's blogs about all big LLC's that are in the public eye. So why not this one? No reason not to. Enquiring minds wanna know.

So hold onto your hats and pull up a chair and read on. We'll be telling the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth, if we can help it. Everything else will be opinion. And that's why I love America! You can't get into (too much) trouble for giving your opinion. Hey! They don't shoot flag burners or the K.K.K.. So let's get going on our journey to tell the good, the bad and the ugly truth and opinion about the handful of people who run Coachville. And remember, you get to add to our knowledge base about them also. So blog away!
